About Shane Spyksma

I was born and raised in Central Iowa, and some of my fondest childhood memories include deer hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors with my family. At age eight, I developed a strong passion for bow hunting, which is still one of my favorite hobbies. After all, Hunter is literally my middle name. I can frequently be found tracking the wildlife on my family’s land through trail cameras or swapping hunting stories with anyone who shares my love for the sport. I am blessed to have grown up around some of the best farmers and hunters in Iowa, and they have taught me so much over the years about hard work, dedication, and respect for the land on which we live. 

I guess you could say my interest in working in the land industry began before even I realized it. When I was a kid, people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always answered “I don’t know yet, but whatever it is, I want to work outside.” My first “job” was bailing hay for my grandpa. I was so eager for the opportunity and to be close to agriculture. After that, I went on to gain work experience in lawn care, soil sampling, and recently launched a business which provides habitat solutions for land owners who are looking to make their ground more conducive for wildlife.
